Designed for certified Open Water Divers, this course helps you build confidence, improve underwater skills, and explore a wider range of dive sites—including some of the most iconic locations in Pondicherry and Chennai, such as the legendary Aravind Wall.

The Advanced Open Water course isn’t about classroom exams—it’s about experience. Through five guided adventure dives, you’ll expand your knowledge, refine your techniques, and gain the confidence to handle deeper dives, navigation, and varying underwater conditions.
Once certified, you’ll be qualified to dive up to 30 metres, unlocking access to more exciting dive sites and advanced underwater environments worldwide.
Course Structure
Mandatory Adventure Dives (2)
Deep Dive (Up to 30 m)
Experience the thrill of diving deeper into the blue. You’ll learn how depth affects your body, how to manage gas consumption, recognise nitrogen narcosis, and follow deep-diving safety procedures.
Underwater Navigation
Become a more confident and independent diver by mastering navigation techniques. Learn to use a compass, natural references, kick cycles, and time to navigate accurately both underwater and at the surface.
Choose Any 3 Adventure Dives
Pick three adventure dives based on your interests. These dives may also count as credit toward future specialty certifications.
Peak Performance Buoyancy – Improve trim, control, and efficiency while protecting marine life
Drift Diving – Learn to glide effortlessly with ocean currents
Boat Diving – Master boat entry, exit, safety procedures, and etiquette
Wreck Diving – Introduction to wreck exploration, mapping, and safety awareness
Night Diving – Discover a completely different underwater world after sunset
Fish Identification – Learn to identify marine species by behaviour and characteristics
Search & Recovery – Learn effective search patterns and use lift bags to recover objects
Digital Underwater Photography – Capture stunning underwater images using natural light
Underwater Naturalist – Understand marine ecosystems and underwater interactions
Training Locations
All five dives are conducted at some of the best dive sites in Pondicherry, giving you valuable real-world experience while enjoying diverse underwater terrain and marine life.
Course Requirements
Minimum age: 12 years
Valid Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent)
Completed scuba medical questionnaire and medical clearance if required
Bring your own swimsuit, towel, cap, and personal items
