The PADI Assistant Instructor program takes your professional diving career to the next level. As an Assistant Instructor, you can not only guide certified divers and assist instructors during PADI courses, but also independently conduct Discover Scuba Diving sessions in confined water, teach theory portions of PADI courses, and deliver select non-diving courses.
Most importantly, this program places you just one step away from becoming a full PADI Instructor.
What You Can Do as an Assistant Instructor
As a certified PADI Assistant Instructor, you will be qualified to:
Assist instructors during PADI certification courses
Teach Discover Scuba Diving in confined water
Conduct academic sessions for PADI courses
Teach select non-diving specialty programs
Build real instructional experience before becoming an Instructor
Prerequisites
To enroll in the Assistant Instructor program, you must:
Be an active-status PADI Divemaster (or equivalent)
Hold current EFR certification
Have a minimum of 60 logged dives
Be a certified diver for at least 6 months
Equipment Requirements
Assistant Instructor candidates must own a complete set of personal diving gear
Full gear rental available at ₹1,000 per day (if required)
All candidates must purchase the PADI Assistant Instructor Crew Pack, which includes mandatory study materials

Assistant Instructor Internship
For candidates starting from scratch or seeking full immersion:
