Open Water

The Open Water Diver Course is the most exciting and accessible way to begin your scuba diving journey. Designed for beginners, this course teaches you all the fundamental skills needed to become a safe, confident, and internationally certified diver. Once certified, you’ll be able to dive up to 18 meters (60 ft) with a dive buddy or dive professional—unlocking a whole new world of underwater exploration.

If you’ve always wanted to learn scuba diving in India and earn a globally recognised certification, this is the perfect first step. As a certified Open Water Diver, you can travel and dive across the world, discovering coral reefs, marine life, wrecks, and underwater landscapes with complete confidence.

At Livein Adventures, we believe that strong training creates strong divers. That’s why our Open Water Course runs over 3–4 days, giving every student the time they need to practise, refine, and master their skills. Our experienced instructors train you in real ocean conditions around Vizag, helping build comfort, safety awareness, and adaptability.

Knowledge Development (Online Theory)

Before entering the water, you’ll complete the online theory lessons at your own pace. Through videos and interactive e-learning, you’ll learn:

• How scuba equipment works

• Basic dive physics

• Physiology and body response to pressure

• Underwater communication

• Safety rules & environmental awareness

Even though the e-learning is simple and self-paced, our instructors are always available to clear doubts and guide you through the theory.

In-Water Training Schedule

The Open Water Diver Course is completed over 3–4 days, depending on conditions and student pace.

Day 1 – Pool & Confined Water Training (6:30 AM – 4:00 PM)

This is where you learn and practise all your core scuba diving skills.
Your instructor will guide you step-by-step through:

• Orientation & course briefing

• Theory review

• Gear setup & equipment handling

• Confined Water Skills 1 & 2 (pool)

• Confined Water Skills 3 & 4 (calm lake/quarry or pool)

• Gear cleaning & storage

You will practise breathing underwater, clearing a mask, buoyancy control, regulator recovery, underwater communication, and more.

Day 2 – Open Water Dives 1 & 2 (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM)

Your first two ocean dives!
You’ll head to the sea or an inland freshwater location (as per conditions).
These dives take you to 12 meters, where you practise the skills learned in the pool.

You’ll also begin exploring Vizag’s underwater world—reef life, rocky structures, and marine species.

Day 3 – Open Water Dives 3 & 4 (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM)

You’re now just two dives away from becoming a certified diver!

These dives take you deeper—up to 18 meters—while completing your final set of underwater skills. You’ll notice a big jump in confidence and comfort compared to Day 1.

After the dives, you’ll:

• Clean & store equipment

• Complete remaining paperwork

• Review your course progress

Dive schedules may vary based on ocean conditions. Safety always comes first.

Requirements

• Minimum age: 10 years

• Must be able to swim 200 meters without stopping
  OR swim 300 meters with mask, snorkel, and fins

• Must be able to float for 10 minutes without support

• Bring your own swimwear, towel, cap, face mask, and personal items

• Complete the medical questionnaire (doctor’s clearance if required)
